65W GaN Type-C Charger: Balancing Power, Efficiency and Thermal Performance
A Common Industry Challenge
As charging power increases while product size decreases, power density rises. In compact high-power power supplies, dense components, higher current and limited surface area make heat extraction a common engineering challenge.
Efficiency, PCB layout, thermal performance and enclosure size therefore need to be considered together. This is a general engineering consideration for high-power compact chargers, not an issue unique to one customer product.
What the Customer Needed
The customer wanted a compact 65W Type-C charger with stable output, high conversion efficiency and controlled temperature rise.
The charger also needed to support everyday use with devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.
How Tongyong Industries Addressed It

Tongyong Industries optimized the circuit design, GaN component selection and internal layout to reduce power-conversion losses.
Our engineering team also refined thermal materials and internal heat management, followed by electrical, safety and durability verification during production.
The Result
The finished product supports up to 65W output with full-load efficiency reaching 92%.
Overall size was reduced by approximately 35% compared with the original design, while temperature rise remained within 45°C during continuous operation.
